EST Sproule Message: All NJ Construction to Open

May 13, 2020

Positive news from the statehouse was announced yesterday affecting many of our union families in New Jersey. Governor Phil Murphy announced that all non-essential construction work will resume on Monday, May 18th at 6am. This is a great news for the construction industry and those union members who helped flatten the curve with the use of social distancing and proper PPE.

With the reopening of construction, its more important than ever for our members to help rebuild our state and reinvigorate the economy.  Our safety, productivity, training, craftsmanship, and discipline will help move New Jersey forward in these unprecedented times.

In preparation for working under the new safety guidelines, I recommend all members complete the online COVID-19 Preparedness Qualification Course. This training was crafted by our own training center staff and is an important tool for our members during these unprecedented times. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this training as it helps prepare carpenters to work under these unforeseen challenges. All while maintaining the safety of our members, their families, and the communities in which we work.

The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters will continue to be a resource of information for our members even with the reopening of construction. Please reach out to your Local Union or Council Representatives with any questions, for assistance, or utilize our website chat feature at easrcc-staging.jjzizzr3-liquidwebsites.com. As a brotherhood we will continue to support each other in these trying times regardless of social distancing and we will grow closer as an organization.
