On Behalf of EST Sproule: Condolences to the Woodrum Family

June 21, 2021

SENT ON BEHALF OF EST WILLIAM C. SPROULE

It is with a tremendous sadness and a heavy heart that the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters announces the passing of our brother, Mr. Edward “Woody” Woodrum.

Woody was a 39 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Ed entered the brotherhood in 1982, as a member of Delaware Local 626. Woody worked in the field as a carpenter until 2001 when his talents were recognized, he was asked to part time teach at the Delaware Carpenters Apprenticeship School in New Castle, DE for Local 626. In 2004, Woody became a fulltime instructor with the Carpenters JAC. In the years that followed, brothers and sisters from the UBC learned of the tremendously talented and kind person that Ed was. Until his retirement in 2018, Woody would help and support anyone at any time, for work or personal reasons, no questions asked. This was the true measure of the man.

Woody loved being in front of a class or just talking with someone on the phone that wanted to improve their career skill set. He knew that if you wanted to succeed in life, you could always learn something new in order to achieve success, believing that God is good and he always provides.

Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Ed is survived by his loving wife Kim and three children Rebecca, Jessica and Mark.

Thank you Woodrum family, for sharing this true giant of a man with our union brothers and sisters. His positive influence and impact on our organization and UBC family will live on for generations to come.
