Shame on RDC
Shame on RDC, Inc. for contributing to the deterioration of union carpenter craft workers’ work opportunities and the area standards they seek to uphold. RDC, Inc. is promoting the use of – non-union contractors – without any guarantee to the carpenters that its area standards, which include pension and health benefits, will not be eroded.
The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters believes that RDC, Inc. has an obligation to the community to see that union contractors employing union carpenters are used or, at least, a guarantee that carpenters’ area labor standards are met for construction work at all their projects, including future work. They should not be able to insulate themselves behind “independent” contractors. For this reason, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters has a labor dispute with all the companies identified here.
