“I initially walked into the Union Hall because I just wanted a job. I stayed with the union because of the fair pay, the safer working conditions, and the health, pension and annuity benefits we as union members receive. Here we help each other out so we can take care of ourselves and our families.”

Luis Barahona, Local Union 197, Prince George’s County, Maryland

“I’ve been a union carpenter for almost 15 years. I got in after my time in the service. I wanted to work with my hands and earn a good living. The carpenters gave me a way to do that.”

Christine Goletz, Local Union 432, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

“Organized Labor opened my eyes to the impact policy and legislation has on my ability to earn a living wage – benefits included. I understood that it is my responsibility to be an educated and engaged union carpenter in order to protect my rights.”

Steve Papp, Local Union 445, Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania

Stop Tax Fraud Now

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and the EASRCC are educating the public and taking action on fighting tax fraud issues like misclassification, wage theft, workmen compensation fraud, and human trafficking. When greedy contractors commit tax fraud, everyone is a victim.

Building And Diversifying The Construction Workforce

The Sisters in the Brotherhood (SIB) program is breaking down barriers each day and proving that jobs don’t have gender. Our Carpenters Union believes that we are one craft with many faces and our Locals should be made up of a group of local, diverse people. That’s what our Sisters in the Brotherhood program is all about.
