Carpenters continued to work through a global pandemic after being deemed essential workers by state governments across the EAS Carpenters Region. To meet the safety demands on essential projects, the EAS Carpenters developed nationally recognized safety training courses, “COVID-19 Preparedness Qualification” and “ICRA: Best Practices Awareness”. The effectiveness of these training courses was such that the International United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners incorporated them into the training provided to its members nationwide. Local governments including Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and more also recognized the training as a standard for essential employees on construction projects.
