Jonathan Young

Political Director

A member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters since 1996, Jonathan was most recently Council Representative with the Eastern Atlantic State Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC) before becoming the organization’s Political Director. He has served as a Camden County, New Jersey Commissioner since 2015. Jonathan is a strong advocate for fair wages and labor practices and has an extensive background in workforce development.

In Camden County, Jonathan collaborates closely with the Camden County Technical Schools Advisory Committee, shaping the vocational trade curriculum. As a member of the Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs Advisory Board, he contributes to the study of economic and public policy issues in Southern New Jersey, fostering civic engagement and amplifying the voice of the region in public discussions. Among other community roles, he is President of the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC), Vice President of the Southern New Jersey Building Trades Council, a founding member of NJ-19, and former President of the Southern New Jersey Commissioner’s Association.

Born and raised in Darby Township, PA, he resides in Berlin Township, NJ with his family, proudly calling Camden County home for more than 30 years.
