Michael Hand is the Assistant Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC). The EASRCC represents more than 40,000 members in Delaware, District of Columbia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and 10 North Carolina counties. Our members come from many different trade groups including: commercial/residential carpenters, heavy highway, piledrivers, floor-layers, mill cabinet, and tradeshow.

Before Michael’s appointment to Assistant Executive Secretary-Treasurer, he served as a Senior Area Manager for the Keystone + Mountain + Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters which would be renamed the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters in December of 2019. His duties involved managing and organizing team rooms over seeing Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Michael is a 35-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He grew in his career as a member of Local Union 158 out of Philadelphia. Throughout his career as a skilled carpenter, Michael was involved in construction projects at some of Philadelphia’s most I well known institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia International Airport, Luken Steel, and the Philadelphia Convention Center.

In his personal life, Michael is a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and a Member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He graduated from the Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia. Michael grew up in the Riverward section of Philadelphia, commonly called the Flat Iron. Although he no longer resides here, he remains true to his Philly roots and remains highly active in the Philadelphia community through community programs. Besides his charitable work with the Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Michael takes time to assist “Carpenters Who Cares” which helps carpenters struggling with addiction, volunteers for the Center of Support for Children’s Advocates and the American Hearts Association, and constructs dog houses for families in need through the Society for the Prevention pf Cruelty to animals (SPCA).  

Michael is married to his wife Kimberly Hand and has two sons Jared and Jude.
