United Brotherhood of Carpenters Endorses Joe Biden

October 1, 2020

On September 30th, in Pennsylvania, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America announced their endorsement of former Vice-President Joe Biden and his running mate Senator Kamala Harris.

When it comes to Carpenter issues, there really is no question about which candidate stands with our members on the core values that we share – strong protections for the safety and wages of hard-working people, supporting union apprenticeship programs, and investing in our nation’s infrastructure. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are by far the better ticket.” UBCJA General President Douglas MacCarron

There are over 20,000 carpenters represented by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and their regional council The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters in Pennsylvania.

“When it comes to Carpenter issues like strong protections for the safety and wages of hard-working people, supporting union apprenticeship programs, and creating good-paying jobs by investing in our nation’s infrastructure – there is no better choice than Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President.” Eastern Atlantic States Executive Secretary-Treasurer William C. Sproule

The over 42,000 carpenters represented by the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council will have a say in many elections this year across Delaware, The District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Virginia, and West Virginia. Union votes will make the difference in federal, state, and local elections and that is why a new easy to use tool has been utilized by the union called “Live Ballot” so that carpenters know all the candidates they endorsed.
