This holiday season, union carpenters from the Eastern Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters (EAS Carpenters) are coming together to make the holiday season a bit merrier for children in need. Through toy drives organized by dedicated local union members, these skilled carpenters are showing that giving back is as much a part of their identity as building homes and infrastructure.
“Our members enjoy giving back to the communities where they live and work,” said Local Union 432 Representative Brent Sopko.
“Growing up in Pittsburgh, it is ingrained in you to take care of your community. We are fortunate to work for wages that make it possible to give back to those less fortunate. It doesn’t have to be monetary; it can be using the skill that we have harnessed over the years by building a handicap ramp or fixing someone’s home. Being a union carpenter is a lifestyle, not just a career.”
From Pittsburgh and Scranton to Duncansville, PA, and Atlantic City, NJ, union carpenters are stepping up to bring joy this holiday season.
Whether through donating toys, volunteering time, or building community spirit, members of the EAS Carpenters continue to spread the holiday cheer. Their efforts highlight the values of hard work, generosity, and community care, ensuring that every child has a brighter holiday season.
