Philadelphia, PA, October 30, 2024 – Today, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EAS Carpenters Union) is proud to announce their endorsement of Matt Meyer for Delaware Governor, recognizing his steadfast commitment for the working class.
“Supporting leaders like Matt Meyer who prioritize fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security is crucial to our members’ future,” said William C. Sproule, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters. “As a former public school teacher, small business owner, and New Castle County Executive, Meyer has always been an advocate for working people in Delaware. We look forward to working with him as the next Governor of Delaware.”
During his tenure as New Castle County Executive, Meyer has demonstrated how government can effectively serve its citizens by delivering tangible results that benefit working families, including those represented by the EAS Carpenters Union. His experience as a small business owner gives him a deep understanding of economic challenges and job creation, which is essential for improving employment opportunities and working conditions for union members across the state.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters,” stated Meyer. “The hardworking men and women of this union are the backbone of Delaware’s skilled workforce, advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, and comprehensive training. As governor, I am committed to expanding opportunities for union workers, investing in infrastructure, and combating wage theft—ensuring that workers are paid fairly for every hour they put in, and holding employers accountable who exploit their workforce.”
